Detailed LOOF statistics per breed

LOOF offers you statistics concerning:

These statistics cover 16 years, from 2003 to 2018 included and were updated based on the data known up to December 31st, 2018.

A full set of these statistics is published here, both for all breed cats (visible on this page and downloadable in pdf format) as well as for each breed group where more than 200 pedigrees were generated between 2003 and 2018:

For any question and suggestion concerning these statistics, you may contact Marie-Bernadette Pautet.

Kittens and Litters Statistics, regardless of the breed

Number of registrations per year

(years refer to the pedigree number or RF registration certificate, the kittens who have already bred are in orange)

pedigrees per year

Litter size analysis

(along the x axis, number of kittens per litter; along the y axis, corresponding number of litters)

Litter size

Which corresponds to a mean litter size (registered with LOOF since 2003) of 3.25 kittens
(3.44 kittens for litters born during the last two years)

Proportion males vs females (computation taking into account pedigrees over the whole period) : males : 51.1%, females : 48.9%.

Spread of litter birth dates month per month

(along the x axis, month during which the litter was born - along the y axis corresponding number of litters)

Litters per month

Inbreeding coefficient for LOOF-registered kittens

(along the x axis, inbreeding coefficient of kittens ; along the y axis, number of kittens with this inbreeding coefficient)
NB: the computation only includes "traceable" inbreeding, i.e. coming from known ancestors,
the inbreeding coefficient of unknown ancestors being set to 0

Inbreeding of LOOF litters

The computation takes into account all ancestors known by LOOF
This knowledge varies between cats but its mean on all litters is equivalent to the knowledge of 7.9 complete generations.

Mean per litter, computed over 144412 litters born since 2003: 3.23 % (mean per kitten, computed over 469659 kittens: 2.98 %)

Percentage of kitttens having a traceable inbreeding coefficient between

Stud/queen statistics

Studs

8439 studs having had at least one litter during the last two years
(1586 studs contribute for more than half of the kittens, and 3959 studs contribute for more than 80 % of the kittens)

Analysis of the number of kittens per stud during the last 24 months:

(along the x axis, number of kittens per stud - along the y axis, number of studs concerned)

Kittens born per stud during the last 2 years

Spread of active studs according to their age when their kittens are born

(one bar per trimester, the x-axis is labelled with the age in full years)

Age of studs when their kittens are born

Queens

16827 females having had at least one litter during the last two years.
(ratio of 2.0 active queens per active stud).
(4433 females contribute for more than half of the kittens, and 9596 females contribute for more than 80 % of the kittens)

Analysis of the number of kittens per queen during the last 24 months:

(along the x axis, number of kittens per female - along the y axis, number of corresponding queens)

Kittens born per queen during the last 2 years

Spread of queens according to their age upon delivery

(one bar per trimester, the x-axis is labelled with the age in full years)

Age of queens when delivering kittens
